| Lab News Archive 2012-2013 Lab alum Jenny Xiao's research was featured in The New Yorker, and graduate Morgan Kennedy's work has been published in Perspectives on Psychological Science. Professor Kristin Lane has been awarded an AREA (Academic Research Enhancement Award) Grant from the National Institutes of Health. The $168,900 award will support research and student engagement through 2015. 2011-2012 Congratulations to our 2012 graduates! Mengyao Li will begin her doctoral studies in Social Psychology and Peace Studies at the University of Massachusetts - Amherst. Jin Goh will enroll in the Ph.D. program in Social Psychology at Northeastern University. Samantha Baca is now working as a Research Assistant at the New York State Psychiatric Institute. Chris Liu is starting the "two" years of Bard's 3-2 Engineering program, and Greta Tsolova will be remaining in Annandale to complete the Economics and Finance B.S. degree at Bard. This summer Becca-Bell Gurwitz and Nicole Haaser will work in Bard's Social Psychology lab, and Rose Siuta will complete an internship at the Emily Program in Minnesota. Jin Goh was awarded the Andrew Jay Bernstein Prize for the purpose of assisting the preparation of his Senior Project in psychology. Jin is working in the Bard Social Psychology Lab in Summer 2011. Ian Weiss is spending the summer in Cambridge, MA, working in the labs of Jason Mitchell and Mahzarin Banaji. Mengyao Li is completing coursework and an internship through Bard Globalization & International Affairs. Ian Weiss, Josie Curry, and Kristin Lane attended the annual conference of the Association for Psychological Science. Josie was co-author on a poster presentation with Kristin and collaborators Eva Chen and Mahzarin Banaji. Four current lab members and one lab graduate attended the annual conference for the Society of Social and Personality Psychology in San Antonio in January 2011. Jin Goh and Mengyao Li received travel awards to attend the conference. Lab alumna Yi (Jenny) Xiao (Bard '10) was a runner-up for a poster award. Jin Goh presented a poster (co-authored with Kristin and Erin Driver-Linn). Fall 2011 brought many new faces to the lab! Welcome to Sam Baca, Lily Kaufmann, Chris Liu, Rose Siuta, and Greta Tsolva! Lab veterans Marie Flowers, Jin Goh, Mengyao Li and Ian Weiss will be working on Senior Projects this year. 2010-2011 Congratulations to our 2011 graduates! Moneika DiPierro is now working at the Depression & Clinical Research Program at Massachusetts General Hospital. Josephine Curry is working at the Center for Treatment and Study of Anxiety at the University of Pennsylvania. Rita Halpert will begin a graduate program in Psychology at Oxford University in August 2011. Jin Goh and Josie Curry worked in Annandale in Bard's Social Psychology lab. Ian Weiss worked in the lab of Wendy Berry Mendes at Harvard University and Mengyao Li worked in John Bargh's lab at Yale University. Morgan Kennedy began data collection for his Senior Project at Qingdao University in China, and returned to Bard to work in the lab in late August. Lab alumni are making their mark in Social Psychology. T. Edward Hall (Bard '09) is currently working at Columbia University's Center for Research on Enviornmental Decisions. Wren Gould (Bard '09) is starting her graduate work at the University of British Columbia's Psychology Program. Jenny Xiao (Bard '10) is beginning a doctoral program in New York University's Psychology program, where she will be working primarily in Jay Van Bavel's lab. |
